Mission and Goals
Mission
The mission of SensibleTips LLC is to provide free, safe & accessible community resources that affirm, support and inform the transgender community while increasing their overall wellness and inspiring gender euphoria.
Goals
SensibleTips LLC's goals are to be:
Affirming: Offering resources that help the transgender explore and define their identity. Providing opportunity for gender euphoria through making gender affirming clothing and items available free of charge.
Supporting: Providing free, safe and accessible resources and services that provide support and guidance that helps a transgender person navigate society.
Informing: providing community peer education on topics relevant to the transgender community and life experience. Sharing information and resources to increase transgender health and mental wellness.
Guiding Ethics
Beneficence and Nonmaleficence: SensibleTips LLC exists to help the transgender community of Richmond, VA. The organization’s goal is to provide free, safe and accessible services that increase well-being and gender euphoria.
Fidelity and Responsibility: SensibleTips LLC respects the trust from the community and accepts both responsibility and accountability for the organization’s actions in service of the community.
Integrity: SensibleTips LLC conducts business in a way that avoids professional fraud, dishonesty and deception.
Justice: SensibleTips LLC strives to provides resources and services in a fair, equitable way to the community.
Respect: SensibleTips LLC maintains the privacy of those serviced, respects confidential information and the autonomy of the those within the community.
Code of Conduct
The following Code of Conduct has been adopted to ensure the actions and words of persons under the status of employee or volunteer align with the mission, goals and guiding ethics of SensibleTips LLC.
Respect: Treating others with dignity and compassion, despite perceived differences. Accept that you do not have to fully understand a person’s perspective to respect them.
Honesty: Actions matching your words; do what you say you will do. Avoid making promises or guarantees you are unable to fulfill.
Trustworthiness: Maintain trust of the community being served by practicing confidentiality and not sharing information outside of the organization about those we provide resources to.
Accountability: Recognizing that everyone makes mistakes and working to learn from shortcomings to increase your personal understanding of other people and expand your own world view.
Non-fraternization: While in the role of employee or volunteer and during hours of operation, avoiding fraternization with those we provide resources to. To circumvent conflicts of interest, engaging in non-professional relationships with individuals whom we serve is strongly discouraged. If a relationship ever becomes a hinderance to performing duties and responsibilities related to SensibleTips LLC, the involved person may be asked to resign from their position to preserve the organization’s integrity and equity.
Anti oppression: Conducting yourself in a manner that actively opposes systems of oppression. SensibleTips LLC stands against inequity, racism, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, heterosexism, ableism, ageism, colorism, classism, sizeism, religious oppression, white supremacy, xenophobia, misogyny, transmisogyny, toxic masculinity and the erasure of identity. Recognizing that no-one is infallible and striving to always increase knowledge. Accepting mistakes will be made and seek to learn from OUCH, OOPS, EDUCATE moments.
